Working alongside the National Garden Scheme to design their trade stand for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 is exactly the kind of creative challenge we love.
This is not intended to be a traditional exhibition stand. It is being designed as a colourful, immersive and slightly surreal garden experience; a space where illustration, planting and storytelling collide.
Big graphics. Bold planting. Unexpected moments.
From the outset, the National Garden Scheme team handed us a brief filled with warmth, creativity and trust. That freedom has allowed us to develop a concept that feels playful, optimistic and unmistakably Chelsea.
A Stand Built From Illustration
The entire stand takes its cue from the wonderful existing National Garden Scheme artwork; vibrant illustrations of plants, wildlife and the joyful character of green spaces.
Rather than applying the artwork onto flat surfaces, we are transforming it into the architecture of the stand itself.
The illustrations do not decorate the stand. They become the stand.
Oversized floral forms, graphic planting elements and framed moments will create an environment visitors can physically step into and move through. The result is intended to feel somewhere between a garden and a living storybook.
“We are immensely grateful to the Dutch Landscape Studio team for their generosity, creativity and vision in designing our trade stand for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026. Their fabulous design brings the spirit of the National Garden Scheme gardens to life, helping inspire more people to visit open gardens and open their own, in support of nursing and health.”

Whimsy, Curiosity and Surprise
The design intentionally embraces moments that are a little unexpected.
Slightly nonsensical. Wonderfully whimsical. Completely intentional.
As visitors move through the space they will discover playful interventions, unusual vessels, reclaimed objects and immersive planting moments that encourage curiosity and interaction.
The ambition is to create a stand that feels approachable and memorable; somewhere that sparks conversations whilst reflecting the creativity and generosity at the heart of the National Garden Scheme.
Planting With Personality
Planting will weave throughout the stand to soften edges, frame views and bring movement and texture into the space.
But this is not planting for planting’s sake.
Every element is there to create delight.
Real planting will sit alongside reused and reimagined materials, celebrating creativity through sustainability and demonstrating how beautiful spaces can emerge from inventive thinking and resourcefulness.
The smaller moments matter just as much as the larger gestures; tiny interventions designed to inspire visitors and encourage them to see green spaces differently.
